To my knowledge, this car has had 2 previous owners before me. The first was a little old lady who bought it brand new to drive to church on Sundays (hence the low mileage). The second was a mechanic who I bought the car off of. The car has never been in an accident. The body of the car is in great shape for it's age and is free from dents.
The reason I am selling is that the radiator and water pump need replacing. Second, I will be travelling long-term soon and I'd rather get the car off my hands than put money into repairing it just to let it sit for months on end. I also plan on purchasing a car when I return that is better suited for my lifestyle.
In all honesty, the car needs work:
- Needs new radiator (a lot of coolant is leaking)
- Needs a new water pump (loud rattle diagnosed by mechanic as water pump failure)
- Trunk and passenger side floor are collecting water (weather stripping may need replacing)
- Back tires are cracked from age (front tires are newer and in good shape)
- Timing belt has cracks but mechanic has declared they are not dangerous at this time
Despite these issues, the car is in amazing shape for its age. I've taken great care of it with regular oil changes and maintenance inspections. It's been reliable to me for three full years, even surviving two lengthy road trips. With a little work, this car will last for years to come.
The radiator and water pump issues are brand-new problems and I've stopped driving the car since learning about them to preserve the health of the engine. The car has never failed on me or overheated while driving.
However, due to the extensive repairs required, I am selling the car for much less than I would have had it been in top condition. I am also open to negotiations on price if you think it's worth less than I'm asking.
